Athens & 2 Day Delphi and Meteora Tour 6 Days / 5 Nights

This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Greece such a fascinating country.

Day 1 – Athens.
Arrival in Athens and check-in to the hotel. Balance of day at leisure. Overnight in Athens.

Day 2 – Athens.
After breakfast, you will commence your guided Half Day Athens Sightseeing Tour which will give you an overall view of Athens and its monuments with the highlight of the tour being a visit to the world famous ancient Acropolis and the new Acropolis Museum. Afterwards, you will be taken back to your hotel where you will have the afternoon & evening free to wander around this magnificent city on your own. Overnight.

Day 3 – Athens.
Enjoy Breakfast at your hotel and the rest of the day at leisure to explore the city on your own or visit the museums. Overnight.

Day 4 – Delphi, Kalambaka.
After breakfast, leave for the renowned Delphi, via Thebes, Livadia and the picturesque village of Arachova, enjoying the breathtaking scenery from the slopes of Mt Parnassus till Itea. Arrive in Delphi and visit the impressive archaeological site, once considered the centre of the earth and universe, today famous for its theatre, the Temple of Apollo and the ancient ruins. After lunch, drive to Kalambaka via picturesque villages and towns of Central Greece. Dinner & Overnight.

Day 5 – Kalambaka, Meteora, Athens. After breakfast, leave for nearby Meteora to visit the Byzantine Monasteries. Precariously hanging over the sinister abysses, these unworldly hermitages compose one of the most breathtaking sites on the earth. Of the 24 monasteries built through the years only 5 are still inhabited and can be visited: Great Meteora, Varlaam, Aghia Triada, St. Stephan and Roussanou (the last 2 are run by nuns). You will visit 2-3 monasteries and see the priceless historical and religious treasures they contain. Return to Athens passing the heroic monument of Leonidas at Thermopylae. Overnight.

Day 6 – Athens.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to the airport.
